just letting you know it's okay if you weren't really hip to juneteenth until very recently. you're not alone, no matter what your timeline tells you.
and for white people awkwardly trying to figure out what they're supposed to do on juneteenth, the answer is always "make a brisket."
one quick thought on the idea of making juneteenth a holiday...

which is to say, i don't care that much about juneteenth being validated by the state. never needed it before. don't need it now. guess it's cool to have or something like that, but really not necessary.
to me, that's the important part. the holiday is one thing. the history of it is objectively interesting.
this part definitely worries me.
i don't really care if the average american thinks juneteenth is important. again, i don't need that validation.
