'What's the best tip to become a better communicator?'

☆Finish your sentences.

You keep interrupting yourself or going on tangents.

Finish one sentence at a time.

That's it.

Skills will build from there
'That's your expert advice? Finish your sentences??'

Yessir.

Simple always wins...👇
But what's funny is that although the advice is super simple.

You'll find it hard to do..

Almost impossible at times
Finishing one sentence at a time is a skill

And it showcases how polished you are as a speaker
Which basketball player would you prefer:

The one who take 50 dribbles to get to the rim

Or

The one who takes 5 dribbles to get to the rim

'The second one.'

Exactly
The point is the rim.

The words are your dribbles.
'Why do we over dribble bro?'

Because we have unchecked speeches

It's the nature of humans to ramble
Picture a little kid who is learning how to talk for the first time

When they learn to talk, they keep talking on & on & on
As a kid, its cute.

The world will forgive you

But if you keep rambling as an adult, you'll come off as repulsive
Speaking skills are a display of how you think

☆communication skills is your mind turned visible via words
Most of the average attention spans are shit

Most humans get distracted very quickly in their mind

Therefore, they go off in tangents with their mouth
'So how do I stop doing this?'

Well, you have to train yourself out of it

View your communication skills the same way you view the gym
The most important things in the world, you can't see.

Like the mind & the voice.

Yet we know it exists.
'Why are you telling me this?'

Bc when we cannot see something with our senses, we eventually get lazy training it.

That's why I recommend you turn your mind & voice VISIBLE
Record yourself talking

It can be via audio or video

(And if its good, you can upload it as podcasts & YouTube vids down the line)
Next, there are 2 exercises

1. 1 syllable game
2. 1 minute story
1. 1 syllable game

The aim is to make a point with 1 syllable at a time.

'My dog got bored so I took him to the park.'

^all 1 syllable words
By doing this, you're training your brain to speak clearly

Every now and then, you may use words bigger than 1 syllable

All good

But make the intent 1 syllable or bust
2. 1 minute story

Tell a story with a character, conflict & lesson

Do it in 1 minute.

'1 minute? That's hard!'

Exactly. We are going to the gym remember
The 1 minute story forces you to get to the point quicker

And due to the lack of time, you condition yourself to stay on topic!

Less tangents
You can practice 1 syllable game & 1 minute story for a few weeks

Then start recording yourself

Or record yourself from the get go

Whatever floats your boat
But realize this...

Communication skills dictate your future

How well you present yourself will showcase your experience to the universe
If you're an expert who can't stay on topic for more than 7 seconds, I sure as hell ain't working with ya!

And others will treat you the same
You're no longer a little kid bud

Start showing some intention with your message.

Move a point forward.

Dribble with Swag
Making a point is like making a jumpshot.

Start becoming steph curry

Become prolific
But the only way you are gonna do that is with 1 basket at a time

Finish your damn sentences!
