Wow. Berman won’t go.
For context: Berman was appointed by the SDNY judges because the Trump White House was so slow to send a nominee to the Senate for confirmation.

Berman is now saying he won’t leave until the Senate confirms his replacement.

So Berman is basically saying he can’t be fired by DOJ/Barr because he was appointed by the SDNY judges, not by the president.

Per the below, Berman is able to stay put until the Senate confirms a replacement.

New statement from Schumer calling on Clayton to withdraw. Also calls for DOJ IG to investigate the attempted dismissal of Berman.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham says he has not been contacted by the administration about the Geoffrey Berman attempted firing.
Graham is saying here that he’s not going to be able to process a new nominee unless Schumer/Gillibrand return a blue slip — i.e., consent to the nomination.

Several GOP senators — Rubio, Gardner, Rick Scott, Risch, to name a few — spearheaded the unanimous Senate passage of the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act last month. It also passed the House a few weeks ago, 413-1.

Trump has yet to sign it into law.
UPDATE — literally a minute after I sent this tweet, Trump signed the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act into law, per the White House.

Rosenstein says he would not have signed the 4th and final FISA application for Carter Page if he knew what he knows today.
Rosenstein continues to take shots at McCabe, saying he was “not fully candid with me” and “certainly wasn’t forthcoming.”
Rosenstein says “there was suspicion” still in August 2017 about possible Trump-Russia coordination.

But later says this...

Graham: “There was no there-there in August 2017. Do you agree with that general statement?”

Rosenstein: “I agree with that general statement.”
