Statement on All Party Meeting of 19th June 2020 pib.gov.in/PressReleasePa…
What has also come even as the PMO's clarification was being issued is this statement from the army, not suggesting that they were timed simultaneously :
Army statement: "The bridge is on the Shyok River very close to Shyok-Galwan meeting point aligned North South. It links DBO. It is not on the track moving to PP 14."
This is clarifying that the bridge is farther from the LAC that it would be if it was on the Galwan.
In this area of Ladakh, the Shyok flows from the north to the south. The Galwan nullah from the east to the west. The LAC is much east from the point that the Galwan pours into the Shyok. DBO in the above tweet refers to Daulat Beg Oldi, an Indian military base.
The violence in which the Indian soldiers fell on Monday-Tuesday night was at and around PP (patrolling point) 14.
