Love this. Exposes rhetoric and hypocrisy of right wing claims of protecting history. On top of this council spending on culture & museums has fallen by almost £400m due to austerity over the last decade. Where were the right wing protestors then? Protecting history ... piffle ->
Had BLM been out protesting Libraries and Museums and demanding closure (which, of course, they wouldn't be) then these right wing "history" protectors would have been there. But given it was mostly white Tories closing them ... silence. It has nothing to do with history ...
... the protests claiming to "protect" the statues are just naked racism. It has nothing to do with protecting or preserving history - see cuts to libraries, museum and culture. Those "history" claims are just lies used to cover up deplorable viewpoints.
