And all this in a borough with some of the lowest levels of car ownership levels in the UK!

Insanity! 🤪

We could have been forgiven for falling into despair.

But we didn't! ✊

By now @SOSFentimanRd had spawned a mini movement, spearheaded by @SaveOvalStreets which united all 4 of the #ovaltriangleLTN's Residents Associations.

Change was coming.....!

@SaveOvalStreets @lambeth_council's new transport strategy at the end of last year envisaged the creation of something called a #lowtrafficneighbourhood

There would be 3

1 of them would be what would become #ovaltriangleLTN

@SaveOvalStreets @lambeth_council Then, out of nowhere, a calamity struck our world 🌍

Millions sheltered at home. The streets were empty.

We all wanted it to end.

But what would happen when it did, especially in a world without or with much less public transport 🚇 🚌 ??

And @lambeth_council & @clairekholland were ready to do just that

The #ovaltriangleLTN was born as part of our borough's and city's #covid19response

#ovaltriangleLTN has transformed our community

We’re proud to be in the vanguard of change in London and across the UK

This is not our achievement.

We have been standing on the shoulders of giants, not least @citycyclists & @KeaneMJ

But we are glad to have done our bit for #ovaltriangleLTN and the many others who live outside it but will benefit from it....

And we stand shoulder to shoulder with our friends and allies across the country
