@nativelandnet is an amazing tool I have been meaning to share for some time now. You need to get familiar with it.

(A quick thread: 1/6)

This site will show you a map of the Indigenous people who thrived on the lands we now occupy. They had (and still have) beautiful and rich cultures with complex systems of governance--some had/have a level of egalitarianism to which we should aspire. (2/6)
Personally, as a Black American--an African American--who is descended from enslaved Africans, I see it as part of my calling to fully acknowledge and vocalize the plights of people who have been marginalized by the system(s) we currently live within. (3/6)
Marginalized is really not a strong enough word here, but I am rolling with it for now.

This site, per its about page, is "Indigenous-led, with an Indigenous Executive Director and Board of Directors." It is also complete with teacher resources and a blog. (4/6)
I love liberation psychology. Multiculturalism is important to me. And while I proudly & passionately center and uplift the history, accomplishments, #MentalHealth, and voices of Black people, I also work to better understand the importance of solidarity and true allyship. (5/6)
This is work; it is good and necessary work.

How can you incorporate @nativelandnet into your classroom, workshops, or home?

What can we do to be more intentional about reflecting on what it means for us to be standing, working, & living on the land we occupy? (6/6)

Also, thank you @leafwarbler for being the first person to teach me about this website during his workshop on decolonizing science!
