Like many of you, I spent Monday watching Apple’s #WWDC2020 keynote.

This presentation made me wonder, among the many ads APPLE has produced, which one is the best #ad example we can learn from and apply it to our social ads world?

After some research, this one is the one I picked. The ad for the 👩‍💻Macbook Air 2008.

Why?🤨

You can learn two very important things from this ads:

1: SIMPLICITY 💡

2: SHOWING IS BETTER THAN TELLING🎥

1: Simplicity is really valuable🔑.

🍎 focused on 1 idea: Macbook Air is thinnest Notebook.

Instead of a technical description of the product (RAM, screen size, etc), Apple focused on the one thing that makes this product “unique”.

💯Share ONE idea & people will remember it!🔥

2: Show, don’t tell.

The great advantage of ads is that you can convey an idea through visual channels.

🍎 shows how thin its laptop was by pulling it out of an envelope. This is all they need to convey the idea.

It wouldn't have worked as well if they had use text or voice.

When you think about your ads ask yourself two questions:

1: What is the main idea I want to convey with my ad?

2: How can I show this idea to my audience?
