South Africa has the 10th highest tax to GDP ratio in the world!
SA has a higher tax burden than the UK, Canada & Israel.
SA pays a fifth more taxes than Germany, Argentina, Brazil & Spain.
SA taxes collected are a third higher than Switzerland, USA & Korea as % of GDP. 1/3
SA tax burden is 50% higher than Japan, Ireland, Mauritius, Chile and Turkey.
SA taxes collected as % of GDP is double that of Singapore, Philippines, Egypt, Mexico and Malaysia.
SA tax burden three times that of Indonesia, Panama, Bangladesh and Paraguay. 2/3
Namibia has the 7th highest tax burden while Lesotho is 11th Botswana is 35th. SA tax burden is similar to Italy and France. SACU is the trade block with the highest tax burden and highest unemployment and inequality! Source UNWIDER 2017 3/3

Model forecasts for Coved19 deaths in SA show SA death rate 18 times of current world average! Currently, the whole world daily deaths are about 4300 and decreasing. That means on average SA will record about 6% of the world deaths everyday. @waldimar 1
Furthermore, the measured symptomatic cases are 4,8 million the model suggests we will add 25% to the world caseload with just 0,75% of the world population! SA will have the 3rd highest death rate and the highest caseload ever! 2 @netwerk24
Of countries with over 1 million people, Belgium had the highest deaths per million people followed by Spain. Then SA. both these countries are seeing far slower deaths now and are 20 years older than the typical South African. 3

The growth in corona cases shows SA lockdown is not working. All these positive cases would have been transmitted during the lockdown. The weekly rate of infections are still on the up and rate of growth is speeding up
Yes, the number of tests is higher but as can be seen, the % test that tests positive is higher too. Again this transmission happened during the lockdown.
The growth rate of deaths is lower but here too the deaths are growing despite the lockdown. Again growth is the rolling weekly data compared to the week before.

Someone sent me this. From treasury and estimates job losses over three lockdown periods . Seems SA looking at between 2,5 million jobs lost and just over 7 million. Believe the source. This is economic depression type stuff. 1/3
I am not sure who and what goes but we have 16,4 million employed take 7 million away then we are at 9,4 million employed or just one out of four adults working (remember adults includes students, housewives etc) That would push unemployment up to 17,4 2/3
Add 600k new enterants and we have double the number unemployed (broad definition) at 18,4 million to employed! With children etc every employed person will have to carry 6 others! Up from 3,7 now! So even if you work you will be poor - yes that's depression. Weeping now. 3/3
