@NeonKashmir +seduced the king Nara's wife by magic and he destroyed the Buddhist monastery in return. BTW, Buddhism was still popular in the Karkota times, but did not last even a few years under Islam in Afghanistan or Swat or Gilgit or any other places.

@NeonKashmir On that line, Shaivism was already present before Buddhism was introduced, as evidenced by Kalhana's mention of the worship of Vijayeswara, and Buddha not being known in Kashmir.
