This is not scientifically accurate, @NYGovCuomo .

The data shows elderly in nursing homes died at MUCH HIGHER RATE than those at home in New York during this crisis.

He is partially right that the staff infected people...but definitely some patients being sent back did too.
Cuomo goes on to say that NY is 46th in nursing home deaths.

Well, that comes from data like this, from @Avik.

The problem? That is playing with numbers.

forbes.com/sites/theapoth…
As a %, NY did better, but that is only because an ASTRONOMICAL NUMBER OF CIVILIANS DIED.

In total numbers, NY is #2, behind only NJ, which had the same flawed policies. CA, FL, GA, TX...all had far fewer.
Lets take OH v NY.

Ohio has one of the HIGHEST % (hovering around 60%, earlier was higher). NY was at about 13%.

But Ohio is more than half the size of NY, and has 1,100 deaths...

NY by comarison? FOUR THOUSAND, or double the per capita rate.

MN is #1 still (I believe) at 80% with 450 deaths...but even per capita, that would only be about 1800 deaths relative to NY's population...and they have DOUBLE that number.

So @NYGovCuomo is simply lying about the science. I kind of hoped @chucktodd would've done a better job.
Remember this the next time someone tells you 'Democrats are the party of science!"

Cuomo is clearly twisting the science for his political purposes as much as any politician. He'd be better off admitting he made a mistake and he will do better (which is a fair analysis).
