But state regulators are bought off by big polluters.

So Kinder Morgan should face federal criminal charges.

Kinder Morgan spilled 36,000 gallons of drilling fluid into the groundwater that millions of Texans depend on for household, agricultural and industrial use.

The lead samples are comparable to the worst in Flint, Michigan.

This is criminal negligence.
I'm not afraid to stand up to big polluters.

We know that Texas places intentional barriers in the way of getting people registered to vote.

Our so-called VDR law, which means you have to be deputized in every one of Texas' 254 counties you're registering voters, is straight out of Jim Crow.

I was born poor & grew up working class.

But while we're talking about structural inequality & inequity, may I please use this moment to acknowledge that black and Latinx women face even steeper barriers and challenges at every imaginable level of our society and economy?
Black women are three to four times more likely than white women to die from pregnancy or childbirth-related causes.

The fact that we're the only country in the developed world not to provide universal healthcare is a reason.

So is systemic bias.

Black women are paid less, 61 cents for every dollar a white male is paid, no matter what their education achievement, whether the job is low- or high-paying, where they live or what their age is.
