Its a tragedy and makes me immensely sad. And, its not surprising bc any time people fight for progress they are met with extreme violence from those who want to maintain the status quo. 1/

Then, those whose job it is to maintain the status quo blame the movement for all of it, essentially saying, "If you would just go back to the way things were, we wouldn't have this problem." 2/
But the way things were was a problem. We cannot and will not go back. 3/

So, I'm immensely sad that more Black lives are being lost for something so fucking basic as Black lives mattering. That should not even be a debate. 4/

But here we are. And until we, especially white people, get out of the comfort of our privilege and finally listen when Black folx tell us the system is not broken but working as it was designed to, and then pair this learning with action, this is where we will be. 5/
So idk everything happening in CHOP but those are my thoughts. I see patterns repeating and yet again Black people suffering the consequences. Details in specific incidents are important for justice, and this is the system protecting itself 6/6
