As we mark 6 months since @WHO received the 1st reports of a cluster of cases of pneumonia of unknown cause in 🇨🇳, in yesterday's media briefing we reflected on lessons learned so far but more critically we reminded countries of what they need to do going forward. #COVID19

No matter what stage a country is at, these five priorities to combat #COVID19 can turn the tide if acted on consistently and coherently:
1. Empower communities
2. Suppress transmission
3. Save lives
4. Accelerate research
5. Political leadership

We all want #COVID19 to be over, but the hard reality is:
this is not even close to being over.
Although many countries have made some progress, 🌍 the pandemic is actually speeding up.
We'll need greater stores of resilience, patience, humility & generosity in the months ahead.
