I mean this is one of the ultimate frustrations about misuse of the term "medieval" because it elides the fact that medieval people had better access to medical care, such as it was, than Americans have now. Yes I have written about it. going-medieval.com/2017/05/26/on-…
I am in no way saying that the majority of medieval medicine was workable, but it was still available to people. This is staggeringly different to a country full of people who have the correct medical approach and ... just don't feel like doing it.
This is probably born from another one of those pathetic "the Church hated Science and stopped *progress*" takes that is just massively incorrect. The Church were the largest group of healthcare providers in the medieval period and would have used out medicine if they could.
Look, I will stop posting it once edgelords read it and stop agreeing with every stupid thing that Voltaire thought. (Voltaire, in many ways, was the first modern edgelord, it occurs to me.)

But once again the fact of the matter here is that these takes are dangerous because - IT LET'S US OFF THE HOOK FOR OUR OWN BAD DECISIONS. This is a throughly modern problem. A group of people refusing medical directives at the behest of a reality show president is not medieval.
In fact, I would argue that you would struggle to find a more modern issue than people refusing to wear masks and stop a pandemic because it infringes upon their "rights". No such concept exists in the medieval period.
