1/ Last month, @emilyschwing reported that among all 27 Jesuit Universities in the U.S., @GonzagaU has the highest number of priests accused of sexual misconduct who also taught at the school.

She still has questions ... revealnews.org/episodes/unrep…
2/ One of these priests is still teaching political science at @GonzagaU.

Does @Gonzaga_Prez Thayne McCulloh believe students, faculty and staff have been kept safe?
3/ In that episode, we also told the story of a woman who says she’s tried to lodge a formal complaint against one of @GonzagaU’s own faculty members since 1991.

Why has it taken so many years?

And what has the school done to directly address her allegations?
4/ That accused priest is Bruno Segatta. He works under @BoiseBishop. A 2005 senior thesis says when he taught art at @GonzagaU, he created “a very dangerous dynamic, giving religious sanction to morally questionable activities.”
5/ @GonzagaU has a nearly $120,000 scholarship in Segatta’s name. @BoiseBishop’s Chancellor sent his accuser an email in 2018 that says Segatta isn’t allowed to participate in ministry anywhere.

Yet he’s still celebrating mass.
6/ Our recent episode also told the story of Father Brad Reynolds, a Jesuit priest who’s been accused of sexual abuse by four Alaska Native men.

Why did @GonzagaU agree to allow him to minister to students and even bless the 2018 commencement, despite these allegations?
7/ The Jesuits’ Oregon Province, now @JesuitsWest, filed for bankruptcy in 2009.

In 2011, the four men who allege abuse by Father Reynolds started receiving payments from that settlement.
8/ @JesuitsWest has told us every claimant received something, regardless of whether abuse took place.

But here’s the thing: It’s a federal crime to make a false claim in a bankruptcy case. So is @JesuitsWest therefore claiming these men committed federal crimes?
9/ In 2018, we reported that @GonzagaU allowed more than 20 priests who had been accused of sexual abuse to live on its campus since the 1980s. revealnews.org/article/these-…
10/ In response to that first investigation, @Gonzaga_Prez sent a memo to faculty, students and staff. He called our findings a “revelation.”

Yet he also said he found out about these priests sometime between 2011 and 2016: documentcloud.org/documents/5636…
11/ Can @Gonzaga_Prez clarify EXACTLY when he found out about these accused Jesuits on campus?
12/ After all, @GonzagaU was named as a defendant in the 2009 @JesuitsWest bankruptcy case and in at least four other civil lawsuits since 2004. And @Gonzaga_Prez has worked at the university since 1990.
13/ In spring 2019, @Gonzaga_Prez announced the formation of a commission as a way for @GonzagaU to respond to the clergy sexual abuse crisis.

We’ve asked many times about who’s involved, its purpose and goals. But the university has declined every request. Why?
