I recently finished The Price of Tomorrow by @jeffbooth. The book gives a good introduction and overview in regards to the two grand themes that are currently playing out: the rise of AI and the downfall of fiat money.

Quick thread in case you want to dive deeper.

👇
2/ In regards to AI and exponential progress, I highly recommend @waitbutwhy's lengthy two-part blog post from 2015. It does a great job of explaining what's going on and is quite thorough (if you can't be bothered to buy any of the books below).

3/ If you want to dig even deeper there is probably no better book than The Singularity Is Near by @raykurzweil - it's a bit dated and can seem outlandish at times, but the general concepts presented in the book are as relevant as ever.
4/ Our Final Invention by @jrbarrat and Superintelligence by Nick Bostrom are great books on the topic as well.
5/ If you are looking for something more accessible that deals with similar topics around AI and technological progress I would recommend Homo Deus by @harari_yuval and Abundance by @PeterDiamandis and @steven_kotler.
6/ In terms of progress in general, I highly recommend Factfulness by @HansRosling and the work done by the @Gapminder foundation. The book is great and the presentations and data visualizations are pure eye candy.
7/ Thinking Fast and Slow by @DanielKahneman was mentioned in @priceoftomorrow as well - good book, although I wish the systems were named F and S instead of 1 and 2. Mastery by @RobertGreene is great as well, as is Outliers by @Gladwell.
8/ Two more books I'd like to mention: Zero to One by @peterthiel and Exponential Organizations by @salimismail. Both are insightful, but I feel like understanding the difference between a "Zero to One" and a "One to Many" invention is especially crucial in this day and age.
9/ Last but not least, understanding money is crucial. What Has Government Done to Our Money and The Mystery of Banking are great books by @MurraySuggests. And if you want to dive deep into the history of the FED there is no better read than The Creature from Jekyll Island.
10/ A great site to visually understand what happened to our money is wtfhappenedin1971.com by @WTF_1971 - just scrolling through it and looking at the charts will make it obvious that something is terribly wrong with our money.
11/ That's it! If you are interested in #Bitcoin and what role this new form of money might play in the future, feel free to check out further book recommendations at bitcoin-resources.com
