The transgender critical argument is not the same as the anti-gay rhetoric of the 1990's and here's why.

Being gay requires nothing more than self-acceptance. Conversion therapy was designed to change self-perception and feelings, resulting in distress and dysphoria.
Being transgender also requires nothing but self-acceptance, but LGBT argues it can only be fully realized through changing the body to match the self-perception.

Not changing the physical body is not the same as forcing the person to *feel* differently.
A child who believes they are the other sex can maintain this belief into adulthood and choose to change their body if they wish.

Arguing that denying them medical transition before adulthood is 'conversion therapy' is illogical.

Self-acceptance is not conversion therapy.
The threat of self-harm if transition is delayed until adulthood is also irrational and irresponsible.

Saying a minor will self-harm if they remain the same without any effort to force self-perception or changes in feelings is also irrational.
The opposition to Rowling's tweets is one of religious outrage.

The LGBT left holds a supernatural view of gender identity with a belief that the physical body must change to match the internal self.

Gay ideology is the opposite, the belief the self radiates from within.
Accepting oneself and body is not harmful under any condition, yet it is argued to be 'transphobic' and 'dangerous' for trans ppl.

I reject this way of thinking.

A gender dysphoric child needs only to be free to express themselves until adulthood without medical intervention.
