2/5: Waiting for Monday numbers but I believe they may confirm we're in a dire public health crisis and spiral downward
3/5: I think the numbers will show particular devastation among LatinX and Native American families in low-income communities, also African American populations, confirm we're failing to protect our most vulnerable
4/5: We urgently need some type of NATIONAL PAUSE in order to regroup and slow the flow of the sick from piling into hospital beds and ICUs
5/5: It's clear nothing will come from the White House. The President has made a tragic decision not to engage, instead 1) minimize, say 99% of cases harmless (ridiculous), 2) send his advisors to say it's a Chinese Communist Party plot (ridiculous), 3) start targeting scientists
6/5: What has to happen is to wrest control from Wash DC, and move it to Atlanta, CDC, but also convince CDC that they must also do something unprecedented: Lead rather than advise the states. I don't know if any of this is even feasible.
7/5: What is clear is that the default of business as usual will bring an unprecedented level of disease, deaths, and long-term chronic disabilities to the American people. I will continue to do my best to halt the devastation
