I have stopped fighting about gender, sexuality, race, class and the myriad other things humanity is divided on.
What I accept is this. As long as mankind is on earth, every group with a world view is at liberty to fight for, lobby for and engineer the society they choose to live in. In a democracy, this is done through politics and laws.
Once you refuse to sit at the table, it is futile to then complain about laws that are made in your absence and without your influence or contribution. You have tools to engage. Use them.
This is what I spend my waking moments thinking about now - I find myself asking God again and again what his plan is. His grand plan, not the plan for this twinkling of an eye we call life, or this microcosm in the universe we call earth. I want to know his broader eternal plan.
I realise humanity's time on earth is short. All these things we fight over will cease. So, I keep asking how my little time here fits into eternity and the worlds to come.
I wonder what my role might be in the new earth. One where people will finally have sense and all ego will at last be subsumed into the grand Will.
In the meantime, I am incredibly passionate about and actively work for the things God is crazy about - justice, goodness, righteousness, love, excellence, creativity, beauty, rhythm, freedom, the sanctity of independent choice, the sacredness of life.
Those are the things that keep me up at night and that wake me up in the morning. Every product I create revolves around those things; every business venture; every collaboration; every meeting.
I no longer have the physical or emotional energy to do things that are ugly, mediocre, stupid, evil, selfish and unkind. Time is too precious for all that mess.
