People yelling “b-but the team dynamic!!” when arguing about ships in #RWBY sound so strange because it's like they don't understand basic human interaction. Newsflash: it's literally impossible to have identical relationships with everyone in your social circle.

Y'all really think that people spend exactly equal amounts of time with all of their loved ones and talk to everyone they're close to the exact same way? That is completely unrealistic lmao. Why does all reason go out of the window whenever the Gay™ is involved?

Every one of your relationships, whether friendship or romance, will be unique because shock horror, we're all unique individuals. Just because someone doesn't spend precisely an hour with each of their friends every day doesn't mean they care less about some of them.

Y'all really sound like you think love is a finite resource and the characters should use a pie chart to make sure they distribute it evenly among everyone else in the group but that ain't how real people work.

If Yang and Blake spend more time together than they do with Ruby, Weiss, or JNR that doesn't mean they care less about those other characters. Affection is not something you divide up and ration, it's just an emotion.

I am begging y'all to apply some basic thought and realise that of course two people entering a relationship will want to be around each other a lot, but they can still love their friends and family just the same.

And spending more time with their significant other does not mean spending NO time with anyone else. Or should I have got mad when my brother got a girlfriend because he wanted to spend more time with her after that? Of course not, that would just have made me a dick.

(7/10)
We can care about plenty of people at once without behaving the exact same way with all of them lol. And don't even get me started on the way this nonsense is only ever used to discredit same-sex pairings.

ANY ship would affect the team dynamic. Jaune being hung up on Weiss affected the team dynamic, Arkos affected the team dynamic, Renora affected the team dynamic. Even friendships affect the team dynamic, like when Sun followed Blake and left his own team behind.

(9/10)
And that's okay, because these characters are humans with feelings who form connections of various types with different people. Just like basically every human on the planet does. It's part of what makes the story interesting, because we can emotionally invest in it.
