Sega Toys' Satoshi Shimokawa and Yuichi Aoki talk Astro City Mini with Famitsu🇯🇵
(not gonna rehash anything from yesterday's interview, check that if you haven't already)
Shimokawa & Aoki belong to the "high target" department of Sega Toys that specialises in adult-oriented products ("or rather, products with a level of craftsmanship that only adults will appreciate") such examples being the Grand Pianist and Home Jukebox
the stick+buttons aren't to literal arcade spec, as they're simply not available at that small a size, but they've been reproduced as authentically as possible, using the same materials

they took special care to replicate the shape of the cab itself, which was designed pre-CAD
the LCD is 800x480 but displays games at their original aspect ratio

the interviewer asks if the horizontally-aligned monitor implies there won't be any tate games, but that's still a secret...
the interviewer also asks for bonus items—a coin tray for the lower half of the cabinet a la the one for Neogeo Mini, the chair, a to-scale Virtua Fighter character that can play on the cabinet, etc—and they don't have any of that planned but they'd like to do more if requested
the games were picked with Virtua Fighter as the central title; they focused on picking games from the Astro City era, pre-fighting games ('85-90) & fighting game/purikura-era ('90-95), which ruled out older pre-Astro City games like Head On & Tranquilizer Gun
in addition to getting a variety of genres & popular titles, they also wanted to represent the transition of arcade hardware; aside from being unported games in demand from Sega maniacs, Dark Edge & Death Adder represent the System 32, the 2D board that directly preceded Model 1
...and that's pretty much all that's really new, I think, kinda preoccupied so sorry if I missed anything
