@NMS_Kenya therefore duty bound to seek spearheading the adoption of a whole-of-nation resilience-based approach to DRM, one which recognizes that a national, coordinated & cooperative effort is imperative to enhance Kenya’s capacity to withstand & recover from disasters.
Something that must start with the exact measures being implemented for example in the County Planning Dept. That of purging dead wood, non-performers, cartels & professionalizing it. Which is what is required in the County Disaster Mgmt Dept & the County Fire & Rescue Service.
The basic aim herein MUST be trying to drive & coordinate the development of a replicatable Strategy for Disaster Response& Resilience. Initiate a approach, consisting of the National, County & Stakeholders under the auspices of the Nairobi County Disaster Mgmt Committee- NCDMC.
The objective being the improving & or adjusting accordingly all tenets geared towards achieving the goal of a Disaster Resilient Capital County 2020 & beyond.

Application of a resilience-based approach in Nairobi is not solely the domain of Emergency Mgmt Agencies, It is a shared responsibility between all as stakeholders. @NMS_Kenya is therefore duty bound to provide high-level guidance on Disaster Mgmt to the all not just the CBD.
@NMS_Kenya MUST therefore come up with County Disaster Resilience Strategy. Focusing on priority areas to build disaster resilience across the County as a whole, not just the affluent areas like the CBD or Karen. The Majengos & Mathares that make Nrb too.@MwololoBramwell
Given the increasing regularity & severity of disasters, I repeat, @NMS_Kenya MUST recognise that a coordinated & cooperative effort is required to enhance Kenya’s capacity to respond to, withstand, recover from disasters. It must start with Nrb being the Capital as the lead.
A Disaster resilient Capital, is one that works together to understand & manage risks it confronts. Disaster resilience is a collective responsibility of all sectors of society, including all levels of Govt, business, NGO's & Citizenry. It cannot be lead by a limping leadership.
By limping leadership, all protocols observed. I simply mean current Directorate Mgmt, it's Director @AnnKananu, Chief of Fire & Rescue @brianchunguli & unprofessional time wasters populating it. The lives of Nairobians can no longer be left in their hands. It is that simple.
