Proof that Tesla's most fundamental innovation is just not doing the years of exhaustive testing and validation that have been industry standard for decades.
You have to respect the hustle. Not only do you save years and million you might have "wasted" in development, but customers also feel special because they get to test the latest cutting-edge "beta" features. It's brilliant... until the lawsuits start piling up.

Culinary digression of the day: stupid-easy pollo asado edition. Throw these three ingredients on a chicken, leave in the fridge overnight and then smoke/BBQ on low/indirect heat (preferably using mesquite) and finish on high/direct heat. You won't believe how good it comes out.
If you want to get a little crazy (and I always do) you can throw potatoes and onions on a layer of cabbage in a pan to catch the drippings. When I did this, the cabbage took on a ridiculous smoky umami flavor that destroyed the restaurant version I was ripping off.
Sorry, no "after" photos of the batch above from a few weeks back... will try to remember to grab some of tonight's effort. Only question is: will the store have the chilies needed to re-up this most necessary condiment? 👇

It's official: Starsky Robotics has shut down, and founder Stefan Seltz-Axmacher has written a blog post with some tough but important lessons from the experience. Must-read stuff here. medium.com/starsky-roboti…
The biggest lesson? "Supervised machine learning doesn’t live up to the hype... The S-Curve here is why @comma_ai, with 5–15 engineers, sees performance not wholly different than Tesla’s 100+ person autonomy team"
Another increasingly-familiar lesson: "It took me way too long to realize that VCs would rather a $1b business with a 90% margin than a $5b business with a 50% margin, even if capital requirements and growth were the same."
