2) or whatever new term is made up in the next 10 minutes to have someone NOT trans play a trans part. We’ll firmly plant ourselves in “Only trans men can play trans men” mode, so the new complaint’ll eventually be that trans people are being typecast...
3) and only getting to act in trans people roles. So what then? I guess trans people will demand to play non-trans people roles, because they’ll naturally want to play parts that stretch and grow and challenge them...
4) And that’ll be OK, even though it’s NOT OK for non-trans people to play trans people. And this is why it’s so absurd. Look – Halle is a big girl and she can make her own decisions about what roles she’s gonna play...
5) but it’s clear she made this decision a) to avoid the inevitable onslaught of unwarranted criticism and b) to appeal to the woke crowd demanding society be turned upside down to suit their every new outrage.
6)It might be easier to have patience for this particular scenario if in fact it wasn’t just one more example in a never ending list of unreasonable, twisted demands made by the SJW crowd...
7)...Like tearing down statues of our founders, changing names of sports teams, calling vaginas “front holes” – all ridiculous ideas that don’t really create progress or true changes of heart, but rather cause people who see the absurdity in all of it to get angrier...
8) and feel more animosity towards the people making the demands. It doesn’t build tolerance. It breeds resentment. This is the kind of stuff that divides us, little by little, more and more every single day. So what will happen now?
9) Some trans dude will get Halle Berry’s role, and instead of potentially reaching the huge audience that Halle could likely bring with her fan base, like 12 people will see the movie instead. If that’s how Hollywood wants to operate, it’s no skin off my back...
