Haha. This piece by Gideon Lewis-Kraus on Scott Alexander is actually not bad overall. Around 30% of the article is like a tape-delayed version of my tweets.

Key observation: many pieces these days are essentially verbal wrappers around public data structures.

- Sports articles often wrappers around box scores
- Financial articles often wrappers around tickers
- And many articles are wrappers around tweets
Oracles generalize the ideas behind box scores, tickers, tweets to anything, from the weather to corona.

Every assertion has who (digital signature) said what (hash) and when (timestamp).

So your verbal layer is a wrapper around cryptographic facts.
It'll take time, but this is a long-term plan to rebuild trust via trustless technology.

Just like in academia it's considered de rigueur to cite your sources, we go from just asserting something is true to citing a pseudonymous cryptographic attestation.
