I just wish people would just view wildlife from afar. Don't get close to them because you might make them nervous. People are naturally curious and get awed by them but please just maintain your distance.
Recently at Pulau Ubin a wild boar suddenly appeared out of nowhere where we took a break at. There was another visitor near us and I don't know what he was trying to prove but he briskly walked up to the wild board to give it water. The wild boar immediately tensed up.
If that wild boar charges, he will charge at all of us there. All because of this one guy who had to show his bravado. I was with hubs and friends and I refuse to let the boar hurt us or himself if he charges. I raised my voice sternly to the man and told him to back OFF.
Tun has an ultrasound appointment this morning, so he has to be on a fast until it's over. He's so upset with me for the lack of breakfast. My heart breaks for him. We still don't know what's wrong with him. Blood work isn't conclusive to tell.
He's been losing weight even though he's eating and has his regular appetite. He has lost part of his eyesight. The vet says 90% of his vision is gone. He hasn't been climbing or playing. He just eats, use his litter box, and find places to nap. Sometimes he seeks out cuddles.
They found enlarged lymph nodes. It could be an indication of Lymphoma or FIP. They'll do a biopsy and send the samples to the lab for testing.
According to hubs he noticed that only in Singapore that Nyonya kuih is actually Malay kuih. In Malaysia it's just called kuih. Whatever race in Malaysia will call this kuih. Not Nyonya kuih.
Also the spelling of the kuih in the list is atrocious:
"Pulok"
"Harun"
"Dardar"
I actually want to see this tree in Taiping. See how the props are angled, the whole structure of the tree, the roots on the tension side and the branches.
The tree uprooted 2yrs ago! The primary branches could be 2+m in girth and the trunk itself probably 4-5m in girth. A massive one! Unfortunately the branches favoured one side towards the water and from photos didn't show any strong tension roots
Going to the nursery to the regular place I go to means I come home with piping hot tea for my plant friends.
Nurseries are seeing a spike in houseplant collectors coming to purchase. These new houseplants collectors are the result of CB. People stayed at home and needed something to care for.
Not just in Singapore, but we see this trend globally.
With more demand than supply, plant prices have skyrocketed, multiple folds. The trend is not anything variegated. A Philodendron Florida Beauty costed me about $50 a few years ago. The same size that I got then would now cost $400+.
Gusti Adipati Handaya Ningrat: Fights for his people and country. Puts self interest aside, including that of his sister's.
Hang Tuah: Fights for himself and love. Loyal to the Sultan to a fault.
Who is more honourable?
Gusti Puteri Retno Dumilah (aka Puteri Gunung Ledang) was needed by her brother, The King of Jawa, to help to establish ties through marriage to protect their people and country. They faced invasion and attack from the country of Demak.
See next tweet for her choices and poll.
Her choices:
A. Sultan Demak so his country won't attack hers
B. Sultan Melaka so his country cld protect hers frm Demak but he actually just wanted pussy. Marrying him means she has to see Tuah, love of her life, everyday.
C. Live alone on Gunung Ledang with curse
