What about a show about a group of people that try to deal with the repercussions of GCPD corruption, brutality and their acceptance of a vigilante that uses deadly forces in anyone in low income neighborhoods, especially the ones doing non violent crimes to survive?
With all the shit we can say about #ARROW, Oliver Queen literally has a arc when he loses his money, goes to prison and learns how jail doesn't fix shit. How people that try to so good behind bars get fucked and when he gets out he tries to give people second chances.
He tries to give a villain the chance to work with the law and be released, between other things. In #DoomPatrol #Cyborg has a conversation with Roni about how going to jail doesn't help take anyone out off crime, someone showing that they care, given help, does.
Y'all love to hate #BatmanVSuperman but outside of the killing, the extreme and unnecessary violence, all things #Batman does in the comics. Bruce Wayne cares more about the city thant it's people. Lex had to frame Superman for murder, he didn't have to do the same with Batman.
Also, we love to hate on #Batwoman, but the show literally deals with Kate noticing how much anger and unnecessary violence gets used, how the cops never care what leads someone to be the "criminal". Kate stars buying buildings so she can make the rents cheaper and renew them.
#BlackLightning has a hero they during the day works as teacher, principal, Who speaks about the difficulties of growing up in a poor and black community. Jefferson knows crime isn't a easy option when it's the only option.
U know what those shows have in common? Ollie has a drug addict sister, has to deal with social anxiety and his rage and violence are constantly questioned. Kate grew up jewish woman, a lesbian humiliated in the military. But still kept herself connected with society.
Jefferson saw his father killed for being a journalist speaking the truth. His city used by the government for scientific experiments. Lived as a black man in a white society. Faces how suiting up and punching his problems away was addicting.
Bruce Wayne is a white man that was traumatized as kid, but with the wordl at his hand preferred to dress up and punch poor people instead of seeking help. That's the Batman's problem, even on the suit, he still entitled rich, egocentric white man.
We don't need another cop show. #TheBatman #GothamCentral #GothamPD #Batman @DCComics @hbomax @mattreevesLA @WarnerMedia Make a show about the people Batman will never understand, never truly understand prejudice, being poor, not helped or believed.
