I wish there were ways to thwart your own abuses. For example, you had nothing on @GenFlynn, but your team leaked to MSNBC (where you have a gig today, corrupt) that you may go after his son, and within weeks he pled guilty on what Feds knew was not a lie about a legal act. Thug!
.@AWeissmann_ What’s this garbage with @RodRosenstein’s scope memo? He gave you a pass to investigate people rather than just an incident (collusion), and to invetigate those people on things unrelated to each other or to Collusion: Manafort/loans; Flynn/Turkey; Papado/Israel.
.@AWeissmann_ The memo gave you the authority to investigate all those people (plus Carter Page) on Russia collusion despite a year of FISAs, human sources and a very broad investigation not proving collusion. You took the hoax and tormented people because you are a barbarian!
🔥 THIS WEEK IN 2005: @AWeissmann_ steps down as Chief of the Enron Task Force.

Flops:

1) SCOUTS 9-0 overturned the conviction against accounting firm Arthur Anderson.

2) 5th Circuit overturned convictions on 4 Merrill Lynch Exeutives.

3) Mistrial in the Enron Braodband case.
The 2005 Anderson ruling from SCOTUS came years after the government destroyed that huge company based on garbage claims.

@AWeissmann_ demanded that the ML Executives be imprisoned pending appeal. They sat a year+ until reversal.

The Enron Broadband case was a huge flop for AW:
Weissmann dumped 164 charges on 5 executives of Enron Broadband, a division of Enron. The Jury acquitted 3 of the 5 on many charges and jury was hung on the rest. A judge declared a mistrial. It was clear for days that this case will flop, so AW resigned days B4 verdict, 7/19/05.
The Merrill reversal came after @AWeissmann_ left but it was his case so his flop. All these “big” wins exploding when put to test in court, explains why the Mueller project (run by AW) did not try to force Trump’s hand in court. AW knows he is “good” only when he can intimidate
his prey into pleas. However, if they push back, @AWeissmann_ is at a loss! The @maddow audience was angry that Mueller didn’t plow ahead against Trump in court. In their mind, AW is a pit bull but he is no such thing. He is also dishonest/abusive which led the flops in courts.
After @AWeissmann_ needed to step down from the Enron Task Force due to its flops, FBI Director Mueller made AW his Special Counsel. In 2011, Mueller appointed Weissmann as FBI General Counsel (top attorney). amlawdaily.typepad.com/amlawdaily/201…
Mueller welcoming this power abuser @AWeissmann_ into a special job in 2005 for a year ; and then rehired him in 2011 as top FBI attorney and then as manager of the SCO against Trump, illustrates the low standards that Mueller has when it comes to justice.
Finally, Mueller and @AWeissmann_ both knew when they started in May 2017 that the DOJ/FBI had nothing concrete on collusion despite a year of a broad spying operation. Yet those two unleashed the full hell of the US government on their prey and squeezed them with cruelty
hoping to get something Russia related. For example, they knew that Flynn did not lie. If yes, it was anyway about legal things. When his attorney pushed for documents, Mueller’s team leaked that Mueller is looking into @GenFlynn’s son. Flynn pled within wks! This gave Mueller
and AW a much-needed Russia-related plea despite both of them knowing the plea was a move by @GenFlynn to protect his son on an unrelated, rarely prosecuted thing: Failing to register under FARA. (Flynn’s partner was prosecuted by Mueller because why not.)
Another victom of the Weissmann abuses was George Papadopoulos. Australia’s top diplomat in the UK had a “chance” encounter with GP at a club where he “slipped” that Russia has Hillar’s emails. (He eas repeating an internet rumor). This sting meeting (sorry, “chance encounter”)
officially started the collusion investigstion — 2 months later. No idea why such an “urgent” matter took so long to start. Anyway, later that year a human source was sent to spy on him. Audio suggested that there was no collusion. Feds plowed ahead anyway. In Jan 2017, now 6
months of no collusion evidence, Feds interviewed GP. In Oct 2017, he pled guilty for lying. This was another “Russia-related” success for @AWeissmann_. How did he get GP to plead guilty about an interview from 9 months earlier? By threatening him with FARA on Israel work.
Failure to file FARA can lead to years in prison. In order to get headlines for an investigation that he knew should have been closed long ago, @AWeissmann_ used threats of a rarely prosecuted violation to get Russia-reated pleas on non-lies about legal things. Barbarian!
