(2/4) The intersex community, medical organizations like the AAFP, the WHO, GLMA and Lurie’s own queer and trans employees have been calling on Earl Cheng and others to cease these harmful interventions. Every time they have been dismissed and disregarded.
(3/4) I will not stay silent on the matter until these mutilations stopped. Intersex bodies are beautiful and perfect the way they are and any medical interventions should be up to the individual. NOT bigoted parents wanting a “normal” child, not hospitals, not doctors. PERIOD.
