@shycollie @rosru924 @FollowsCourage @DocStrange_1 @RBlockMD @fpapro1 @RealLion33 There is progress and then there is nonsense. I am all in favor of progress-medicine is nothing if not progressive. I don't support nonsense. Permitting people not trained appropriately in medicine to manage patients w/o oversight is nonsense. Common sense dictates that
@shycollie @rosru924 @FollowsCourage @DocStrange_1 @RBlockMD @fpapro1 @RealLion33 2)consequences are predictable in this kind of scenario. It is not necessary to conform to a "changing world" if certain conditions are not met that protect the public. Are we not the stewards of our profession? I feel no responsibility to prove that NPP care does not measure up.
@shycollie @rosru924 @FollowsCourage @DocStrange_1 @RBlockMD @fpapro1 @RealLion33 3)It is their responsibility to do so, with valid, indisputable, applicable evidence. In the FPA states, what regulatory or legislative body has followed up to determine if the quality of care is what it was professed to be when passed? None. That is irresponsible. Presumption
@shycollie @rosru924 @FollowsCourage @DocStrange_1 @RBlockMD @fpapro1 @RealLion33 4)of quality is not acceptable-it must be substantiated. It has not been. This is irresponsible at best and reprehensible at worst. In neither FPA nor OTP were physicians asked to sit at the table; however, our accountability is dictated by others not trained in medicine as to
@shycollie @rosru924 @FollowsCourage @DocStrange_1 @RBlockMD @fpapro1 @RealLion33 5)what our roles will be. F**k that noise. In CA, the sponsor of the FPA bill expects physicians to sign off on a document that NPs can practice unsupervised. Why not ask a NP to sign off? Why a doc who does not possess a nursing license nor is accountable to the nursing board?
@shycollie @rosru924 @FollowsCourage @DocStrange_1 @RBlockMD @fpapro1 @RealLion33 6)You know why. The landscape changed when medicine became corporatized. I submit it is that which is responsible for this "progress", not the house of medicine. To that I will never subscribe. For too long we have allowed them to dictate to us how medicine is to be practiced.
@shycollie @rosru924 @FollowsCourage @DocStrange_1 @RBlockMD @fpapro1 @RealLion33 7)The change has been haphazard, sloppy, inconsistent and w/o appropriate oversight. That is not progression, that is regression and a travesty and tragedy of medicine. There are plenty of physicians and potential physicians, we need more residencies. We have better options, why
@shycollie @rosru924 @FollowsCourage @DocStrange_1 @RBlockMD @fpapro1 @RealLion33 8)are we not using those? Entire physician groups are being terminated to hire NPPs. That is not a shortage, that is abject greed to save money and utilize cheaper resources w/o ensuring those resources are adequately prepared. The fact that an undesirable practice has become the
@shycollie @rosru924 @FollowsCourage @DocStrange_1 @RBlockMD @fpapro1 @RealLion33 9)norm does not indicate positive advancement. It is simply normalization of deviance. And I want no part of it.

I do appreciate your perspective, I just don't agree with it.
