Say I wanted to develop short videos for asynchronous consumption by students.

Which would be the easiest way to do it? Zoom? I still absolutely loathe Microsoft Teams.

I can also do, I suppose, YouTube or Twitch.

Thoughts?
Second, and perhaps dumb question:

Say I wanted to record a nice intro with jazz music:

"Welcome to Dr. Pacheco-Vega's class (NAME OF THE COURSE)."

With an intro and an outro faded into the video. Do I have to edit in Adobe Premiere? (I did this years ago and it was HELL)
I recorded a 2 minutes video on YouTube and the file is FIFTY MEGABYTES.

I am a softie who (for the most part) writes Twitter threads when students and scholars of under-represented communities and countries of the Global South write to me. So, here's a by-request thread on how I organize my folders and some practices (not sure if they're best!)
Like anybody, I, too, get disorganized every so often. This is something that happens to me when I am overwhelmed and I just say "oh, I'll dump my files in my main Dropbox folder" and then I have to take an entire day to re-organize my life.

I use various cloud-based services.
In OneDrive, I have my "Main Research Library". I have folders for each and every topic of interest to me.

I try to make each folder name as descriptive as possible.

A number of graduate (Masters and doctoral) and undergraduate students have reached out to me asking the question:

"how can I get started with my thesis?"

I promised that this evening I would do a thread and a blog post so they could refer to them.

Here it goes.
As I was pondering this blog post (one that I've been wanting to write for a long time), I started thinking about what the baseline should be, both for this blog post/Twitter thread & for my book(s) I am writing 2 books at the same time in 2 different languages on these topics.
I am going to write this thread from the viewpoint of someone who has supervised theses and dissertations, and in the future I'll be writing one for advisors.

I'll start from the baseline that you (student/doctoral candidate) have already done everything except the thesis.
