The moment any of these GOP Senators up for reelection try to turn on Trump, the ads will write themselves.
2/
The number of hardcore MAGA people is shrinking, but good luck winning as a Republican right now without them.
They'd have to win over enough independents to make up for the Trump supporters who will turn on them.
3/
The problem that it's beyond Trump's ability.
It would require (1) admitting there is a problem, (2) admitting he was wrong, and (3) speaking coherently.
It's bigger than Trump. . .
4/
They can't distance themselves from Trump.
They are Trump.
5/
The pitch would be "Biden will win. We need Republicans for balance and to keep the Democrats from going too far."
I agree that it won't work because of the pandemic.
6/
The Mueller findings, evidence that Trump is beholden to foreign powers, cheating on taxes is enough to tip the election to the Democrats.
I don't believe the "economy" would have saved Trump.
Now the baseline has changed. . .
7/
Now a blowout seems likely.
I think a turning point was when Trump suggested drinking bleach to kill the virus.
Stark raving madness creating in mass death loses more voters than cheating.
8/
Many of us who watched the Mueller Investigation and Operation Ukraine Shakedown unfold are shocked that it took a pandemic to pry away some independents and Trump supporters.
