Early this week at Mbiuni shopping centre in Mwala Sub County, I launched a programme for mass distribution of face masks to our people of Machakos to prevent the spread of COVID-19. 
Since the first case of the novel Coronavirus was detected and announced in the country, my government of Machakos, without wasting time, embarked on rapid initiatives to contain the spread of the virus including special training for health workers.
