This morning at my office in Matuu, I met grassroot leaders from Masinga Central ward led by their area MCA Tariq Mulatya to discuss pertinent issues relating to the ward.
Our discussion revolved around projects that my government has undertaken in the area, those that are under implementation and a wishlist of programmes that the people of Masinga Central would like us to support them on.
Among the projects that the delegation requested are:
1. Seed fund for women entrepreneurs.
2. Fund to support people with disabilities.
3. Countywide safety training for boda boda riders
4. Wheelchairs for children with disabilities.
5. Livestock market
6. Public works yard
My government is rolling out programmes for wealth creation and socio economic development and will therefore factor in the request made by the leaders of Masinga Central as part of the larger county development goals.

Early this week at Mbiuni shopping centre in Mwala Sub County, I launched a programme for mass distribution of face masks to our people of Machakos to prevent the spread of COVID-19. ImageImage
Since the first case of the novel Coronavirus was detected and announced in the country, my government of Machakos, without wasting time, embarked on rapid initiatives to contain the spread of the virus including special training for health workers. ImageImageImageImage
We also set up of a 480 bed isolation and treatment centre, earmarking advanced ambulance vans dedicated to the pandemic, improving health facilities and work environment among others.

As part of my re-organization of Government to ensure improvement, efficiency & service delivery to Wananchi in Machakos County, I have today made the following changes in my Government. ImageImageImage
Despite financial challenges we might encounter during this financial year, wananchi still need and deserve development and service from our public offices. I have made these changes to ensure that all serving in my Cabinet remain attuned to this Clarion call of service.
There will be more changes that will affect other sectors of my government, from Directors, Heads of departments etc. There will be a reshuffle for officers who have overstayed in their dockets so as to get rid of lethargy, as we also promote hardworking and deserving officers.

WHY KENYANS WILL CONTINUE BEING FIRED FROM JOBS EVEN AFTER CORONA:

It is quite concerning when we hear of mass sackings of employees from COVID-19 economic hardships. The main problem is not Covid-19, but the inability of our economy to cushion us during times like these.
Right now, families are hurting and Kenyans are suffering due to lack of money and general hardships in life.

We have, as a society, been primed to place more emphasis on politics and tribal blocs rather than economic freedom and expansion.
Our headlines are about who insulted who, political party formations and clamour for power and not what the politics should achieve - more money in the pockets of Kenyans.

What you talk about, have headlines, top stories and front pages about, is what you ultimately get.
