United Nations experts previously warned that al-Sharif's life was in danger due to his reporting from Gaza and daily collection of evidence of war crimes. United Nations Special Rapporteur Irene Khan previously said Israel's claims against him were unsubstantiated.

Aguilar, called the joint US Israeli humanitarian effort “amateur,” “untrained,” and “criminal.” He also witnessed IDF and US contractors firing artillery, mortars, and tank rounds into crowds of starving and unarmed civilians.
Israel and the GHF responded to Aguilars testimony by attacking his credibility and painting him as a disgruntled employee, despite a mountain of evidence and third party accounts backing his claims.

Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovilė Šakalienė announced that Lithuania will join the purchase of Patriot systems for Ukraine and plans to allocate up to EUR 30 million. The decision was announced after a meeting of the defense ministers of the Baltic countries with US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The push comes as Ukraine faces some of the heaviest Russian bombardments since the war began. Patriot systems remain critical for protecting urban centers and intercepting ballistic and cruise missile attacks.
