A #Story

Long back, there was a forest. There was a herd of elephants. The head elephant had two children. The brothers did not grow up together. The younger brother was left behind in an attack from a Tiger in a different forest. The rest moved back.

+
The younger elephant learnt to live alone. In the initial days, he had to fight against lions, tigers, leopards all alone. He had to gather his food himself, find water without help. He went through those lonely days with braveness and courage. He won every battle.

+
Slowly he met other elephants. Many had been been separated from their herds similarly. He gathered a lot more of them. Slowly there was a herd of his own. They were fierce. Lions/Tigers that attacked never survived or driven away. The Group was valiant, even a single of them.

+
One day, the younger brother's herd was wandering and reached the river, which was their border. The herd wanted to cross the shallow waters o. The Younger Brother was weary but finally they did, crossed to the other side which belonged to the forgotten elder brother.

+
A messenger carried the message to the elder brother. He along with his herd came to see the new Herd. The parents had long died. They had forgotten the past. Their forest was secure because of the younger brother's herd. But the elder brother's herd had no knowledge of it.

+
The herds came to a distance of 50 meters from each other. They stared at each other but could not recognize each other. They decided to talk and stepped forward. The younger brother had a very powerful, sharp Tusk and
a strong Trunk. The elder had a sharp eye & strong legs.

+
They came near each other. They were about to talk. In a moment of slip, the younger brother's Tusk scratched the elder brother. This hurt the ego of the elder. How can a young tusker challenge me like this? He waved his tongue a little strongly & hurt the eye of the younger.

+
At this moment, an old elephant in the elder camp, recognized the younger. It shouted "He is ours, he is ours". But before his voice could reach others hell had broken loose. The herds attacked each other. In their fury, they destroyed everything that came in the way.

+
Message went to the Lion
Message went to the Tiger
Message did also reach
That wretched cunning Fox

They came in ones
They came in twos
They came in 10s
They came in 100s

The Elephants fought
They hurt their eyes
They hurt their trunks
They hurt their legs and the heads

+
As the brothers fought, they saw the marks made by their parents. All the elephants saw. But they could not stop the fight. The old elephant alone stood at a distance. She did not participate.

Blood flew in the battle but tears in her eyes. Finally the elephants were tired.

+
They could not anymore.

The Lions and the Tigers
The Foxes and the Wolves
They had it easy
They had in plenty

The elephants watched in helplessness as the Lions, Tigers, Foxes and Wolves came walking towards them. The Elephants offered nearly no resistance.

+
Lions ate them for Months
Tigers ate them for Months
Those Foxes & the Wolves
Also ate them for Months
The Elder brother died
The Younger brother died
That old Elephant at the distance
A bloody death - she also died

The Elder's Memory
& The Younger's Tusk
Lay by the side

+
All for a Scratch
All for a Wave
All for a Slip
They lost the Herds

We cannot let this happen to us.

End of the Story.
