We sued for the emails of former DOJ official John Gore, who had provided the official letter to the Census Bureau with the administration’s stated legal reason for adding the question.

Along with @NAACP_LDF, we sued for records of DOJ’s involvement in the citizenship question. In May, a federal district court ruled that DOJ had failed to adequately search for these records.

We also filed requests to find out more about misleading documents sent by the RNC formatted to look like official census forms. The documents included a lengthy questionnaire, and Trump’s re-election campaign even texted some recipients urging them to fill out the form.
