One of most disturbing is that it's another case Ministry of Education approves a program, enforces it into action even without discussing it w/ professional society.

Another case of enforcing new crucial rule w/ no discussions & no proper dissemination: Education Ministry headed by Araik Harutyunyan made super important change to process of entering University. An applicant chooses several Universities prior to giving general exam…

…and if gets lower marks than needed for 1st choice University, gets a pass to second priority line and so on. This year Ministry decided to consider only 1st line, causing lots of brilliant kids, who failed to enter highest rated universities, got completely out, while others…

…who got significantly lower marks entered their 1st choices. This caused lots of high school excellent students expelled. And that's not about the decision is right or wrong. It's about changing crucial rules not properly informing the applicants.

For 2 days families the applicants protested near Natl. Assembly then Govt, asking for meeting w/ Minister Arayik Harutyunyan. The latter preferred not to meet.

Third scandal w/ Arayik Harutyunyan these days comes amid Ministry renaming "Armenian Literature" class at schools to just "Literature". It removes Grigor Narekatsi, Nahapet Kuchak & entire middle age layer (unacceptable), adds Franz Kafka (good), also adds…

some moderns Armenian writers (why not), who are not clearly tested by time, (anyway good if they're good). But all at expanse of priceless layer of Armenian medieval literature. And guess what - again w/o public discussions, just local meetings, adoption & getting into action.

My assumption is it's either deliberate destruction of system of values (which I'm not inclined to believe it) or aggressive incompetence mixed w/ inability to hear anyone's opinion other than theirs.

BTW Arayik Harutyunyan was one of the organizers of protests agnst foreign language schools in 2010s roaring to strengthen the Armenian in local education system․

Anyone wants me to believe, these guys are professionals? They start worrisome gestures only when scandals erupt. No policy, just spontaneous decisions.
