Disagree. Federal law enforcement is on the scene in Portland to prevent the destruction of federal property. How does that infringe on state’s rights? Also state authorities across the country have abandoned their post and fed their citizens to the mob. Someone has to step in.
This is a coordinated campaign by insurrectionists to wreak destruction and chaos in our cities. Left wing mayors and governors are not just allowing it but welcoming it. Are the law abiding citizens of these towns just out of luck? The feds should stand by and watch? No.
State’s rights should not protect the “right” of governors and mayors to hand their cities over to violent mobs of terrorists and insurrections. That notion of “state’s rights” is blatantly absurd.
No one is a state’s rights absolutist. I’m sure @DavidAFrench would say Lincoln was largely justified in his actions during the Civil War. If there are limits to what states can do, allowing violent mobs to terrorize cities for weeks on end must be well outside those limits.
