Captain Vikram Batra of the 13 J&K Rifle. he had captured in his first gallant exploits in the Kargil war.

He mayterd fighting Pakistani forces during the Kargil war in 1999 at the age of 24. He was given the highest wartime gallantry award Param Vir Chakra.
Lieutenant Pandey was a soldier of 1/11 Gorkha Rifles. His team was tasked to clear enemy positions in order to prevent his battalion from getting exposed in the daylight. The battlefield was Khalubar.

He had joined the Indian Army with the ambition of getting a Param Vir Chakra

Rifleman Sanjay Kumar volunteered to be the leading scout of the attacking column tasked to capture area Flat Top of Point 4875 in the Mushkoh Valley on 4 July 1999.

He picked up the UMG and killed the fleeing enemy. Although bleeding profusely, he refused to be evacuated.
Colonel Balwan Singh Panghal MVC is a decorated Indian Army officer who was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra for his courage in leading the successful assault to capture Tiger Hill.

He was a lieutenant during the Kargil War and an indispensable part of 18 Grenadiers unit,

He was seriously injured and unable to move, but he ordered his men to leave him and charge at the enemy, while he continued to fire at enemy

Major Vivek Gupta unnerved, reacted immediately and fired rocket launchers. Thereafter he engaged the enemy in a fierce hand-to-hand combat and managed to kill many enemy soldiers.
Capt Vijayant Thapar was awarded “Vir Chakra” for his gallantry, unyielding fighting spirit and supreme sacrifice.

He was martyredbut motivated by his daredevilry and leadership, his troops later charged at the enemy and fully captured Knoll.

He was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, during his successful operation in the Kargil War.
Captain Saurabh Kalia was an officer of the Indian Army who missed and died during the Kargil War while being held as a prisoner of war by the Pakistan Army. He and five soldiers of his patrol were captured and allegedly tortured prior to being killed.
