Sharing a nice story on this auspicious day of #KargilDiwas.
During the war, millions of children from across the country wrote letters to faujis who were fighting on the front, sending their love and encouragement. The letters are distributed amongst all units and then further
to all companies, so everyone gets the to read them. I also got a few and replied to them. But my buddy, from 8 Sikh got one from Mhow, a place where we were about to for our Young Officers Mandatory course.
So when we reached there, in early 2000, he showed me the letter and
said we should visit this kid. I said sure. The letter was the cutest representation by a really you girl, 5-6 years old, of what she thought Army guys are doing and her best wishes for them.
So we bought a few chocolates and cookies etc and reached her house. We send the bell

Today is the 21st #KargilVijayDiwas, India's victory day in the Kargil War of 1999. We'll talk about a few names who will never be forgotten: Captain Saurabh Kalia, Captain Haneefuddin and Lt. Vijayant Thapar. (1/21)
Captain Saurabh, 'Naughty' to his family, loved to cook.He wasn't exactly an early riser. His mother, afraid that her son would get hazed in the IMA, got him an alarm clock! (2/21)
When he returned home from the #IMA he had become so thin that his friends joked, ‘Faujiyon ne toh alu chheel diya! (the Army has peeled our potato!)’. (3/21)

Image
Image
Image

Kargil war holds some valuable lessons for us.

No matter what Pakistan govt says about peace with us,it can never be trusted

There is an authority above the Govt in Pakistan & that is the deep state which includes Pakistani Army & its spy agency,ISI.

Till the deep state has the final say in the foreign policy of Pakistan, peace between the two nations will always remain an illusion!

Kargil war exposed the nuclear bluff of Pakistan that it used for its leverage and took hostage of the global community.

It proved that in scenario of a war with limited escalation, the nuclear weapons of Pakistan would remain nothing more than a chimera.

A "clean chit" after BJP tortured a decorated officer for years

My father, Suhas Gokhale, was arrested by Modi govt on the eve of his retirement. He had finished his work on the last day of his 30-year-service and was looking forward to his retirement parade the next day (1/18)
It was an especially poignant moment for my father who served 14 of his 30 years in uniform in a state of partial paralysis after being injured in the line of duty. Allegedly on orders from the PM & Mah. CM, they arrested him at midnight - the night before his retirement (2/18)
When his fellow officers were at the retirement parade in the morning, he was thrown into jail. He kept pleading that he be allowed to attend his parade at least but they said no. But directions from “saheb” in Delhi were clear - don’t let him have a graceful retirement. (3/18)
