I’m on a women’s agenda briefing call with the @JoeBiden team and WOW, wow, wow!

I will update this thread when I have a chance with some specific points but I’m very happy with how ambitious the Biden Women’s Platform is.

Ladies, this is your reminder to register to vote. 🦋
.@JoeBiden's Agenda for women is broken into five categories: 1. Improve economic security. He'll start by fighting for equal pay, investing in women-owned small businesses, expand access to education/training, and strengthening pay and benefits in careers filled by women.
2. Expand access to health care and tackle health inequities. Biden will expand access to high-quality, affordable health care, including reproductive health care. and repeal the Hyde Amendment. #WomenforBiden #TeamJoe
3. Help women navigate work and families. Biden will expand access to affordable child care, and care for seniors and people with disabilities, provide paid leave, and ensure fair and flexible work schedules. #WomenforBiden #TeamJoe
4. End violence against women. Biden will end violence against women, continuing his leadershp on this issue since he authored the Violence Against Women Act in 1994. #WomenforBiden #TeamJoe
Biden will protect and empower women around the world. #WomenforBiden #TeamJoe
Joe Biden believes every issue is a women’s issue - health care, the economy, education, national security - but women are disproportionately impacted by many policies. He is going to change that on Nov. 3rd. #TeamJoe #womenforbiden
Women's rights must once and for all be enshrined in our Constitution — and that
starts with the Equal Rights Amendment.
@JoeBiden agrees. #ERANow #TeamJoe #WomenForBiden

To put that into perspective, the amount of children facing the impact of drought including acute hunger, malnutrition and thirst increased from 7.25 million to at least 10 million between February and April.
•The number of households without reliable access to clean and safe water has almost doubled – from 5.6 million to 10.5 million.
•The number of people classified as food insecure has risen from 9 million to 16 million.

I know we didn’t get close to all we wanted or needed in this deal, and we’ll keep fighting for ALL of it, but there are some truly transformational and important parts that we should celebrate. A thread:
AFFORDABLE CARE: The most transformative investment in children and caregiving in generations, delivering:
•Two years of free preschool for more than six million children. The last time America added years of free schooling was more than 100 years ago.
•Affordable child care so that no middle-income families pay more than 7% of their income on child care.
•Affordable, high-quality care for older Americans and people with disabilities in their homes, while supporting the workers who provide this care.

This you @quinnemanuel? How do your clients feel about your decision to hire an architect of Trump’s barbarous family separation program?
The people behind this policy of cruelty weren't elected. They're not famous, but they should be. John Bash. Gene Hamilton. Ed O'Callaghan. They are the human faces of this cruelty. images.app.goo.gl/7fzD9KHw64v28E…
Bash dutifully enforced Trump’s policy, ripping infants and toddlers from their parents before tucking his own kid in at night.  oig.dhs.gov/sites/default/…

I’m going to show you some before/after pictures of what your lungs and heart look like from covid thanks to the innovative work being done by @drwilliamli and @Survivor_Corps.

I think it will help you, especially the deniers, to have a visual of the actual damage covid does.
The left is a picture of a normal, healthy, heart. The right is picture is what happens to the blood vessels from #COVIDー19. In simple terms, the splintering of the blood vessels in the right picture is what makes oxygenation so difficult. Ok...read on for pictures of lungs.
The photo on the left are healthy lungs. You can see all the colorful blood vessels. The center pic is actually *my* lungs. As a long hauler, I have less blood vessels than pre-covid. We don’t know if they will come back. The right are lungs of someone who passed away from covid.
