NURTW is a recognised trade union just like every other trade union in Nigeria. They have every right to collect levies and dues. I pay annual dues to Nigerian Medical Association. Other artisanal & professional bodies collect dues as well.
The agbero menace is a crude method of collecting dues and levies. If the drivers are properly documented and payment is electronic / card system, these dues can be collected like Uber and taxify. The income made by buses and drivers can be accounted for.
A certain percentage can go to the union and the state government which can be effectively reinvested in the sector. If 1m lagosians use public transportation daily with an average spend of N200 = N200,000,000 daily returns. We are looking at a N60bn / year industry.
Without other dues at the intercity parks factored into the figures. @followlasg should not have a challenge with upgrading the transport system and road networks in Lagos. The work must be done and the sector must be fixed.

I have given my 2cents ✌ out
