Okay, since people are still fighting about it, let's talk abt the issue that Last of Us 2 DOES NOT SOLVE: depictions of unattainable bodies. There is not a SINGLE overweight person in the game and, among the WLF, food is shown as rationed. Abby COULD NOT do a body building diet.
Abby also spends weeks on the road on revenge quests. No gym crossing America on horseback. And... sorry kids, that kind of muscle bulk involves drugs. I do not know a single clean body builder who gets THAT big. Drugs are SCARCE.
The issue is NOT whether a particular body type is attractive or not. The issue is whether it's actually achievable without serious health consequences. The way Abby looks is absolutely not a healthy state. It wrecks your health so badly your reproductive cycle is compromised.
The other thing is that excess muscle bulk does not lead to strength because it effects the muscle fibres. So Abby getting THAT big would not serve the purposes it does in game. She'd look more like a weight lifter or competitive swimmer.
But a weight lifter has... GASP! BODY FAT! And women AREN'T ALLOWED TO HAVE BODY FAT and still be attractive, right?! Abby reads as someone's fetish, NOT some realistic depiction of someone who got physically strong because they are mentally a frightened child.
So let's talk about Abby's physique as what it is: just another unattainable beauty standard a male game developer created to facilitate his own chub. Not that that's inherently wrong. Let's just NOT suggest that real world women can actually look like Abby doing what Abby does.
