“The decision to hand over the National Theatre was informed by the need to reposition the entire Creative Industry and as you know, the NT is the hub of that industry. This handover is one of the many steps taken by the FG to reposition the industry”-HMIC, Alh. Lai Mohammed
“The agreement btw the @NigeriaGov and the CBN is very clear. They will renovate and upgrade the mainbowl,the cinema halls,the banquet halls,conference center,upgrade the sanitary facilities, the ACs,accoustics, lighting and handover a brand new NT to us”-HMIC, Alh. Lai Mohammed
“In addition, we also handed over about 134 hectares land around the National Theatre lying fallow for about 43 years where they intend to build the ‘Lagos Creative and Entertainment City’ with 4 hubs. The Film, Music, Fashion and I.T hubs” -HMIC, Alh. Lai Mohammed
“The whole idea is that the NT and the hubs will be connected with other facilities including major water-ways, a Visitors Welcome Center, Administrative and management center, curated hard and soft landscapes, an amphitheater, a community center. ”-HMIC, Alh. Lai Mohammed
The entire project would create an entirely new creative and entertainment centre, where budding artists can do their rehearsals, recordings,post production and then the revamped NT will be the platform for consumption of those films, music, fashion etc.” -HMIC Alh. Lai Mohammed
