This in one picture is the graph of India's "English advantage" from 1960-2000.

India and China had a similar GDP in 1947. Japan was higher. (it started translation work earlier though with Meiji reforms).

Look what happens after that with India's amazing "English advantage."
Here is a graph of the Nehruvian penalty on India's economy (different data source so numbers are slightly different).

The same Nehruvian thinking finds its way into "English advantage" thinking today.

And here's India's GDP before the British colonized us and gave us so many gifts, "civilized us", "gave us railways", made us "law abiding", before "feudal society" was dismantled; and most of all before we got the gift of English.

GDP share dropped from 30% to 1% in 1700-1947.
What about "link language" with "many languages"? This excuse has been used for #Englishimposition in India.

But only 1-2% of Indian work & live outside the state they were born. This is not dissimilar to the European Union, which has no "link language."

And two words to completely bury the "link language" debate—machine translation. This is how the entire world will communicate with each other within 20 years. Probably less.

Let us invest in mother tongue education to develop children's intelligence.

You tell me. Can you give me inter-country comparison of this "English advantage"? Evidence please.

I have presented plenty of evidence of "mother tongue advantage" in my book and this is backed by many scientific studies. But "English advantage"?

Apparently Indian has a big "advantage" in IT due to English. But how can we measure this vs other countries without "English advantage"? Can anyone provide me ANY scientific data to back up "English advantage" for India vs others? Prove it's not a scam.
