One day many maharshis were performing a Mahayagya on the banks of river saraswati. All the sages were confused on to whom to be considered preeminent among the trinities. Then Brighu took the test of testing the trinities.

Maharshi reaches Bhramalok first and shows disrespect to Lord Bhrama which leads bhrama to anger and about to punish him. But Maha Saraswati, saved Maharishi from his anger. Angry with disrespect, Maharishi Bhrigu cursed Lord Brahma that no one will worship Brahma in Kaliyuga.

On reaching Kailash Parvat Nandigana stopped him from going inside because Lord Shiva and maa Parvathi were having lone time together. Bhrigu then curses Lord Shiva to be only worshipped in Linga form.

Next to Vaikunth. Brighu finds Maha vishnu in yognidra and wen he calls him up, vishnu doesnt wake up and it seems like ignorance. Brighu out of his anger foes and hits Maha Vishnu on his chest. Deva wakes form his nidra and sees that brighu is in utter anger.

Deva then says sorry to maharshi and asks out of his leela if there is any pain under brighu foot, and asks him for checking the pain. Deva then holds brighu foot and presses the 3rd eye which he has under his foot. Maharshi had 2rd eye under his right foot.

When Deva pressed the 3rd eye there, brighu got realizations and his ego was destroyed. He then asks for pardon fro the maha vishnu. Meanwhile Mahalakshmi finds it disrespectful tht brighu hits at Devas chest where she lives & upon it comforting maharshi Vakshasthala lakshmi🙏🏼

Mahalakshmi becomes angry and leaves the vaikunth and vishnu had to bear patni viyog due to amma viyog. Then brighu asks for a vardaan that Mahalakshmi takes birth to in his vamsha and gets married to vishnu as a opportunity for papa prayishchita of brighu

Having got the boon, mahalakshmi is born to Brighu and Khyati devi, in shravan maas, on a friday falling just before the poornamasi. On this day she ws born to the couple & it was the first appearance even before th episode of sagamanthan. She was named bhargavi as bhrigu nandana

Once she was grown up, she was married to Maha vishnu on again the same day, I.e friday before poornamasi of shravan maas.Once they were married, brighu prayed and did puja to the divine and then sent them to vaikuntha. This puja was marked as varalakshmi puja & first done by him

There lived a woman charumati, whose life was all into Pati seva, pati dharm and good behavious with family inlaws, relatives & everyone. She was very simple, with lot of morale an ethics. She was once given swapna sakshatkara by Mahalakshmi.

In the swapna, mahalakshmi gave a detail of rahasya puja which ws same brighu did perform. She asks her to perform this for her prasannata.Thn charumati in the morning share this many married women & says let's do it together and get her grace. This is the beauty of her character

Frm thn this puja came into existence which is called Varalakshmi I.e wish granting lakshmi.This puja is celebrated by couple together, & man ties thora or dhaaga to his wife whch reflects purnatva I.e completeness. With 9 threads & 9 knots. 9 is shree. Even girls & child wear it

Many women are invited for evening function where they consider these women as Lakshmi and give fruits suhag items and pakwaan , takes blessings. It is joyous occasion. This day unmarried girls, teenagers, young children women men old everyone does this puja with utmost devotion

This is leela, played by both jaganatha suthradhaari and Mahalakshmi to show the universe that God is not limited to worldly existence nd they r Triguna Rahita that's y Bhrama has no puja, but he creates. Shiva has no rupa bt he destroys & vishnu is the saguna rupa of parabhrama

Lakshmi viyog was to show a devta is not complete without devi. Shree heen lok is just equal to energyless. Devtas play roles to teach humans and send some stories for humans to learn. That's y it is called jagannataka 🙏🏼

I wish you all celebrate this puja irrespective of any practice. This day is the day of Vishnu and Lakshmi pavitrabandhan 🙏🏼

For a sthree it is and always prescribed to see pati as parameshwara. And a purush should keep the patni in his heart forever. This is the beauty of Devas message.
