“मम सुख सौभाग्य पुत्र-पौत्रादि सुस्थिर श्री प्राप्तये करक चतुर्थी व्रतमहं करिष्ये।”

नमस्त्यै शिवायै शर्वाण्यै सौभाग्यं संतति शुभा। प्रयच्छ भक्तियुक्तानां नारीणां हरवल्लभे।
Usually celebrated in the months of October-November, KarwaChauth is especially popular in the northern parts of India by Hindus & Sindhis. The festival is celebrated on Kartikki Chouth, which occurs nine days before Diwali. Below are the text references from Narada puran.
The Narada Purana (Part IV) has an entire section dedicated to performance on vratas on different tithis.

In the section of different vratas to be performed on the Chathurti Tithis, there is a rite known as Karaka Vrata observed on the 4th in the dark half of Karttika.
43b-44 The holy rite called Karaka vrata is to be performed on the Caturthi day in the dark half of the month of Karttika. Only women are authorised to perform this Vrata. The rules of the procedure on it are being mentioned.
44b-45 The woman should take her bath and bedeck herself. She should then worship god Ganesa. In front of the deity ten bowls filled with cooked rice shall be kept and be dedicated to the Lord of the Devas with devotion and purity of the mind.
46-47 She should utter (pray) :"May the deity be gracious unto me." Saying this she should dedicate them to God Ganesa. Presents shall be given respectfully to Suvasinis (married women)& the Brahmanas according to desire.
Then at night, when the moon rises, she should duly offer Arghya (water oblation) and partake of sweet-meats and cooked rice for the fulfilment of the Vrata. The moon is said to be Manah Karaka and influences the mental bliss of the couple. Moon is prayed for Marital Bliss
50-51a Or the holy rite shall be observed by the woman throughout her life with a desire for conjugal blessedness. There is no other Vrata like this that yields conjugal blessedness to women. Hence it should be continuously performed.
Texts from Narad Purana
Karwa(Thaali) is stacked with halwas, puas, mathris, cash & clothes. The thaali is offered in front of the deity maata parvati. The women exchange their Karvas which bonds them with the neighborhood & society. In the past, the occasion was celebrated to enjoy the autumn season.
Celebration of KarwaChauth reflects the essence of Indian tradition and culture. The occasion portrays the dedication of the Indian women towards their husband & their well being. The effort & dedicationhelps in further strengthening their relationship & bonding wit their husband
In Andhra, this day Chaturti falling on Karthika maasa, the similar puja is celebrated for conjugal bliss and childre in form of NAGULACHATHURTI / NAGULA CHAVITI. Prayers to sake goddess & maa parvati are observed with same fast &not having food and water. Fasting method differs.
All women in #India observe a great tradition for the progress of their family and self. Hindus need collective responsibility of encouraring & respecting traditions as per their practices for preserving the beauty of #SanatanaDharma & ways.
GodBless all :)
