There's plenty of evidence this #SundayMorning that Trump knows he's losing & it's not just in the polling numbers.

Signals from Trump's own campaign indicate this presidency is in its death throes and thrashing about helplessly for a lifeline.

(2) The first signs came months ago as polling solidified behind Biden. We're now in double-digit territory with the incumbent president poised for the largest blowout in American history.

Trump's inept handling of the pandemic really sealed the deal.

(3) The failure of the campaign rallies first in Tulsa and then in Portsmouth confirmed what the campaign already knew.

They were floundering and Parscale's "death star" of a strategy imploded fast. Along with his political career.

(4) The most recent sign the campaign has lost the narrative came this past week as ad buys were halted in swing states.

Ads had been focused on painting Biden as an advocate of defunding the police, a talking point that has been repeatedly debunked.

(5) More definitive than any public signs that the Trump campaign is in trouble are the actions of the administration in the past month.

Authoritarian crackdowns in cities, undermining the USPS, and threats to delay the election are signs of desperation.

(6) It also appears the Trump campaign has begun to siphon funds out of the coffers, looking to milk and monetize every last drop out of the Presidency.

Recently, they've taken to blatantly violating campaign finance laws without compunction.

(7) You'd think an unpopular president would be an easy target to hang GOP failures on & encourage defections.

But Trump's vengeful tactics means many incumbents can't risk criticizing him even as he hangs like an albatross around their necks.

(8) All of this should be encouraging for those hopeful of putting an end to this presidency once and for all this November.

But in fact, this desperation from Trump ushers in an anxious and decidedly dangerous couple of months for our anemic democracy.

(9) It's been a relief to see long time Republicans recognizing the clear signs of danger and beginning to speak up. Just in the past few days, we've heard from folks I never expected to have pangs of conscience. Including James Murdock & Steve Calabresi.

(10) We're heading into a dangerous chapter in American history. And I don't think we're in any position to give one other false assurances that Trump can't steal an election.

Get out there
Stay engaged
Get in good trouble
Do our founding fathers proud
